Cancellation and Weather Policies for Tours & Cruises

Cape Water Tours & Taxi has a 24 Hour Cancellation Policy

CUSTOMER CANCELLATION –If you need to cancel, please call no less than 24 hours before your trip is scheduled to depart to receive a full refund.

TRAFFIC: We can’t stress this enough. PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR SEASONAL TRAFFIC-especially during the summer months. We often run on a tight schedule and can’t always wait. If you miss your scheduled departure, we cannot offer refunds of rain checks.

NO SHOWS: If you or a portion of your party no show for a scheduled trip, there will be no rain check/refund UNLESS we are able to fill your seat with a guest on stand by, in which case we will be glad to issue a full refund.

WEATHER –Since the safety and success of our business is weather dependent, our Captains are regularly monitoring the constantly changing weather conditions in our area. If inclement weather is forecasted, our Captains will be watching the radar. A weather radar is most accurately read as close to the departure time as possible. We have OFTEN seen a bad weather forecast turn good 1-2 hours prior to a cruise. Therefore, we will try to wait as long as possible to cancel. Normally not sooner than 1-2 hours before departure. PLEASE do not call or email the receptionists asking about weather. If the Captains cancel, our office staff will text you right away. You’ll know when they know.

MINIMUM NUMBER OF PASSENGERS  –All of our tours and cruises require a minimum number of passengers to run, which varies depending on which tour or cruise etc.  If we do not meet our minimum, we will notify you no later than an hour before sailing. We recommend checking your email prior to departure. If we cancel due to low capacity, you have the option to receive a full refund or reschedule for another adventure.

CAPE WATER TOURS CANCELLATION: In the event of a cancellation, we will do our best to notify our guests no later than 1 hour prior to a scheduled departure. Please review your confirmation email to make sure your email address and phone number (the best phone number to reach you on just prior to scheduled departure) are correct. We often text to communicate. An unsafe weather cancellation is at the discretion of our Captains. In the case of a cancellation we will notify you via text message first. If you do not respond, we will follow up with a phone call. If a trip is cancelled due to inclement weather, mechanical issues or low ridership, we will issue a full refund. PLEASE do not call or email the receptionists asking about weather. If the Captains cancel, our office staff will text you right away. You’ll know when they know.
